Whether you are taking a class as a complete beginner, or an experienced, highly competent shooter seeking an NRA or USCCA Instructor certification, ScotShot classes are comfortable, friendly and taught with a high instructor-to-student ratio.

Safety is the most important concept in firearms training and use. Whether we are teaching NRA, USCCA, or our own classes, teaching offered by ScotShot instills the three core concepts - Knowledge, Skills and Attitude - that keep our students safe, confident and having fun after they leave our class.

We observe the key principles of firearm safety, and we pay attention to the direction of the muzzle, we make sure we know what our target is and what lies beyond it, we keep our finger off the trigger until we are ready to shoot and, we never have a loaded firearm until we are ready to use it.

We weave these safety principles into everything we do, and our students do too. As a result, even new shooters can go to the range for the first time by themselves and shoot confidently and responsibly after a ScotShot class.

All those teaching with ScotShot LLC hold the Nationally-Recognized NRA or USCCA teaching certifications at either Instructor or Training Counsellor levels, and most are also either NRA Range Safety Officers or Chief Range Safety Officers. We have received many hours of training and have taught many students. Our purpose is to launch you, the firearms student, safely on your new interest in firearms and the shooting sports, and support you however you'd like and for as long as you want.

Being able to shoot is a great life-skill. Whether for you it's a sport or a tool for protection of your family and yourself, you'll find in shooting a community of people who are welcoming, caring and constructive.
