ScotShot LLC - NRA FIRST Steps Rifle.
This is a National Rifle Association accredited and certificated course.

WHAT THIS COURSE IS FOR
NRA FIRST Steps Rifle is designed as an introduction to your own rifle, in terms of safety, handling and introductory shooting.

WHAT THIS COURSE CONTAINS
NRA FIRST Steps Rifle is a 3-4 hour class, and includes classroom and range time. The class begins with a discussion of the three rules of safe gun handling. Then, we review of the parts and function of a rifle, and how to choose suitable ammunition. We continue with the fundamentals of shooting a rifle and an examination of the bench-rest shooting position. Then, after a range-safety briefing, we go onto the range and shoot your rifle at varying distances, where we look at marksmanship elements such as group consistency, sight adjustment, and the importance of a consistent shooting position.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
This is a foundation-level course, suitable for people who may have just obtained their first rifle. It can be taken by adults and supervised older children, and we encourage parents and children over 12 to take the course together. The only things you need to bring are your rifle, 100 rounds of store-bought, factory-loaded ammunition, a willingness to learn and desire to succeed.

WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY
We provide all training materials, firearms, non-firing demonstration ammunition, classroom facilities, coffee, and snacks. At the end of the course, we issue the NRA Certificate of Participation. Most of all, you'll take away a great experience, a working knowledge of your own rifle, and how to handle and store it safely in your home.

Thank you for choosing ScotShot for your firearms training - see you in class!
